A Local's Guide
A short 10-minute drive, or a lovely 45-minute walk, from Glebe Cottage — Daylesford Organic is one of the finest farm shops in England, and an easy morning or lunch trip during your stay.
Daylesford Organic sits just over the Oxfordshire border near Kingham, close enough to Glebe Cottage that it works equally well as a lazy morning stroll or a quick drive if you'd rather save your energy for the walk back.
Daylesford is a proper working farm shop rather than a simple deli — an outstanding range of organic and local produce, freshly baked bread and pastries, artisan cheeses from their own on-site creamery, and wines from their sister estate, Château Léoube. There's also a home and garden store, the Bamford Wellness Spa, and a cookery school if you fancy learning something new during your stay.
Breakfast and lunch are walk-in only; dinner bookings open from 6pm. As with any farm shop, hours and offerings do shift with the seasons, so it's worth a quick check of the Daylesford website before you set off, particularly if you're planning to eat there.
Diddly Squat Farm Shop is a similar short drive in the other direction, and Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton are both close enough to combine into a fuller day out. See our full local guide for more on the wider area.
Opening hours can change seasonally — this page gives a good general steer, but do check Daylesford's own site before travelling, especially if a meal is part of the plan.
