When Bledington's old village shop closed in 2006, the community didn't just let the village go without one — a group of volunteers set up their own, and it's been quietly serving the village and its visitors ever since. It's the kind of thing that makes a small village feel like a proper community, and well worth a visit while you're staying at Glebe Cottage.
Fresh local produce, wine, and all the everyday essentials you might need during a stay — bread, milk, basics for a last-minute meal, or something nice to take home. Being volunteer-run, it has a warmth and personal touch you won't find in a supermarket.
A genuinely lovely spot for a coffee, a light lunch, or a slice of cake — the kind of unhurried village café that's easy to underestimate until you've actually sat down in it. A nice stop before or after one of the walks straight from Bledington's doorstep.
